Title

Drs Jesse Locke and Hoyer, journal info (1850-1852).jpg

Description

From Historical Society of the Tonawandas:

Taken from an inventory of all historical record repositories in Erie County back in 1983. His journal was part of U.B.'s Medical Collection back then - I think I had found the correct site about 10 years ago - but the curator could not find the artifacts.

Note: it is part of the Roswell Park collection - he probably had it at the time of his death.

Dr Locke's daughter mentions the journal in the trial notes - just that he never kept an account ledger, only his medical journal.

Two addtl minimal mentions of the Johnsons:

In Dr Locke's estate probate there is an invoice from Gillie blacksmith for making a pair of hinges "for coloured man" in Dr Locke's account.

Also I found Jacob Hook handling a $1.00 cash payment for "Mrs Johnson" at store of Urial Driggs - 1851/52 timeframe.

Date

1850
